REVIEW: CRASH AND BERNSTEIN “SHORTY CRASH”

Crash tries to ride a roller coaster at the amusement park, but due to height restrictions he isn’t allowed and with picture day coming up the stuffed one wants to look taller. Wyatt tries a number of different ways to make the dude taller, but really he just wishes Crash would be fine with being a tad shorter than most. Mr. Poulos opts to take Crash under his wing and show him that being short isn’t all that bad. Unfortunately for Wyatt, his picture day looks to be getting worse as he now has gum stuck in his hair. Earlier, Mel had threatened him that if Wyatt’s school pics do not come out looking great, he loses his birthday money!

Meanwhile, Cleo is testing out new products and is looking for test subjects and she has some options in the form of Amanda and Mel the latter of which tries it and starts to believe its working, but really it isn’t. Mel eventually learns the truth after Wyatt gets a terribad haircut from Amanda, causing Mel to flip out from all the cosmetic work going down.  After a visit to the doctors office about her new getup, Mel returns with a hat for Wyatt to wear during the photo shoot. But, with the power of a bee hive, Crash is able to but a stop to the shoot and instead go off and enjoy the roller coaster with his pals…well kinda

One of the things that really stood out to me this week was the overuse of the grocery store set. I realize there are people out there that work really hard on sets like this, but did we really need TWO scenes there? That said, this episode had a nice morale to the story about short people. The girls also had a rather entertaining story line to it, but I thought Mel tailed off in the end of her punishment for her son’s obviously faked hair. I’m actually pretty impressed with the puppet master too, in that he is able to some how control Crash’s mouth movement in a number of different positions, yet still leaves me wondering how they do that??
