REVIEW: REGULAR SHOW “SANDWICH OF DEATH”

‘Regular Show’ puts up a tasty effort that should probably have all the networks taking notes…

Evidently there is a sandwich at the local mall that could kill you…sounds right? After signing the waiver, Mordecai and Rigby grab said sandwich and make sure to put on the proper uniform before they chow down because if they don’t….the could die! However while the guys go and get changed, Benson walks by and takes a bite which causes him to sweat bullets.  Unfortunately, there is no cure handy and regular healthcare doesn’t work so they have to go see a Grand Master so that Benson can eat the Sandwich of Life. be saved.  Lucky for them, Sensei decides to go on the journey but as it turns out he had a falling out with the Master so the guys have to break into the dojo and get the sandwich.  Once the guys reach the Master, he isn’t exactly welcoming and he orders Rigby and the gang to be killed. Thankfully, Mordecai and Rigby are able to thwart the attack, grab the life sandwich, and save Benson all the while escaping by the skin of their teeth with the Sensei.

WOW! What a climax! Seriously, the writers over at Regular Show have outdone themselves again and have given us the first truly awesome animated experience of 2013. The back story behind the sandwiches and the execution of its continuation was just so damned impressive, I’m probably going to watch this episode a bunch more times just so I can get it right. But, the real winner here was the climax with that grandiose battle that would make most Bruce Lee movies poop themselves in shame. When this show really wants to, it creates episodes that make all the major players blush. The musical montage was somewhat lame, but overall this one shouldn’t be missed.
