REVIEW: PHINEAS AND FERB “BULLY BUST”

Buford gets to the Flynn-Fletcher house rather early and makes a bet with Candace that he can keep her brothers’ next invention under wraps until Linda gets back from surfing. The boys eventually come up with a roller coaster ride that takes a trip through a huge tooth!

Meanwhile, Perry meets up with Doof but his latest inator doesn’t even make it off the testing stages and instead the two rivals engage in a pretty entertaining back and forth battle over a Mouse Trap inspired trap that Doof has setup. The fight leads to Doof’s latest -inator to start zapping things into outer space which includes Buford. Fortunately, Buford’s extra strong shoe laces get caught on the tooth and he is able to carry the huge tooth into space before Linda comes home. With Buford still in space and now Doof HQ sky high, Perry smashes the -inator of which sends everything crashing down back to Earth. Including the huge tooth of which is currently crushing Doof.

I never liked the ‘bully’ tag on Buford, but he sure makes for an entertaining story. I thought the really big tooth ride and Doof’s -inator worth both very well conceived but the Mouse Trap fight was the definitive highlight. I mean, mine always broke but it was good to see Doof’s served a purpose. That said, I thought it was rather weak effort on Candace’s part to kick off the story with a negative bet as there really weren’t any wagers involved so I wasn’t hoping for one or the other to fail so I really didn’t have an invested interest in the initial plot. But, with Buford’s singing and the epic battle with Perry and Doof, this week’s episode certainly was no ‘bust’.
