BOOM! ‘REGULAR SHOW’ COMICS ON THE WAY!!
BOOM! Comics all ages imprint KaBoom! is strangely getting the rights to release comics licensed from popular Cartoon Network series Regular Show. Here’s why this might be a bad thing.
There is not another website on planet Earth that does more unbiased coverage of Regular Show. From DVD and TV reviews to news about toys or whatnot, no one can hold a candle. We also have been doing reviews for KaBoom comics imprints for the Bravest Warrior comic series of which at BEST has been mediocre. So, when I heard that KaBoom had tapped GunShow creator K.C. Green to help create a new comic series, I was somewhat worried despite K.C.’s sterling reputation. You see, with KaBoom’s all ages tag its hard for me to see the Regular Show being able to show its true somewhat edgy sense of humor that has helped keep the series in prime time for so long and with such great success. For example, whenever I read the Bravest Warriors series, I can’t help but feel like a motherfucker every time we are supposed to get the word ‘hell’ and instead get ‘heck’. Its so annoying that we get phrases like “Go to Heck!” Granted, Regular Show isn’t really known for its vulgar language, but I can’t help but think this property is going to get dumbed down for the sake of money.
I’m not sure how this is going to go down, but the series is set to launch this April and rest assured that we will review the shit out of it with intense scrutiny. Regular recently made our list of best animated shows of 2012.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
