It’s WEBS DAY! With Zombies (@Shutupcartoons), Frankly Frank(@mondomedia), and Axe Cop(@axecop)!!

First off this week we’ve got another pilot episode from Shut Up Cartoons called With Zombies. I really enjoyed the premise of this episode, titled “Our Apocalypse.” Very clever of creator Matt Clark to think outside of the box and have the zombies unite in harmony instead of uniting to kill all humans. Definitely a refreshing swerve that I can get used to. The voice acting is impressive as there’s actually a pretty large voice cast on this show, which is interesting for a show that’s only roughly 3 minutes long. The art work in this show is very impressive, yet simplistic. Also, I thought it was a very interesting choice to make all the zombies different variants of green and blue instead of the customary rotting flesh and blood color of normal zombies. Speaking of blood, there’s a distinct lack of blood in this show, which is odd for something involving zombies.

Next up we’ve got Frankly Frank from Mondo. This has got to be one of the funniest shows I’ve seen since I started writing Webs Day. Had I not immediately moved from my parents house to my girlfriends house, I could totally see me as being the guy who sends “dick pics” to his roommate to gross him out. The artwork is pretty basic, but has its moments, for example Hairy Frank’s eye-bursting and vomit combo was very well drawn and looked hilarious. The voice acting is also pretty amazing as the parrot “Otto” is voiced to sound like an Eastern European immigrant perfectly. Damn good job Frankly Frank, you’ve earned yourself my FIRST perfect score!!!

Last up we’ve got Axe Cop coming at us from the guys and gals from RugBurn. I wish I had a bigger vocabulary to fully describe how freaking incredible an idea this show is. IT’S WRITTEN BY A FIVE YEAR OLD AND IT’S BETTER THAN MOST OF THE SHIT WE SEE ON NETWORK TV!!! I feel as if the caps lock helped me get your attention and my point across. Yes, a five year old, and boy can this kid write!!! The show is animated just like the comic which only adds to the hilarity. The narrator for this show also does a fine job of reading a kid’s thoughts in his own pleasing baritone. Axe Cop and Flute Cop, you’ve got yourself a fan!
