Out There is a show we’ve had our eye on for quite sometime so we were delighted to see a trailer post up on IFC’s website. The current home of the hugely popular Portlandia, is set to air the new series in February 2013 and according to a press release Out There:

“chronicles the coming-of-age misadventures of Chad Stevens and his best friend, Chris Novak. Living in the small town of Holford in the middle of nowhere, the boys wander the surreal, bleak landscape waiting out their last few years of high school and discovering that growing up is weird to do. Puberty, first loves, social ostracism, conservative parents, single moms and their disastrous boyfriend choices — “Out There” confronts these perils of youth and explores that terrifying limbo between childhood and adulthood when fragile young personalities form and deform. Relive the agony and ecstasy of those special times as Chad and Chris try to navigate life… out there”

From the sounds of it, the series doesn’t sound all to dissimilar from Unsupervised or Good Vibes, but upon further inspection the series features adorably cute characters that should fit in well with IFC’s brand of humor. OUT THERE is created, written by and executive produced by Emmy(R) winning animation director and producer, Ryan Quincy, who was the longtime animation director for South Park. The series is produced for IFC by 20th Century Fox Television. No word yet on a specific night and time, but once we know you will too. Check out the trailer here…
