AMAZON OFFICIALLY GREENLIGHTS TWO TOONS
You may remember earlier this year we mentioned that Amazon is getting into the online original content business ala Youtube and that they were looking at a couple of animated series’ including one from Kristen Schaal (Gravity Falls, Fish Hooks) called Supanatural which is about two “outspoken divas who are humanity’s last line of defense against the supernatural, when they’re not working at the mall”. No word yet as to whom stars but the series is being written by Lily Sparks, Price Peterson and Ryan Sandoval.
The other animated series is called Dark Minions and we wrote about this one quite a while ago as well and as it stands the show is a workplace animated comedy about two slackers just trying to make a paycheck working an intergalactic warship. Yea, the show sounds kind of out there but it should because its being written by Kevin Sussman and John Ross Bowie both of whom write for the popular series The Big Bang Theory.
No word yet as to when any of these shows are set to air except to say that Amazon has told The Hollywood Reporter that the shows have started production on pilots. Once finished, WE will be the ones that decide which show stays, and which one goes. Sounds like an interesting edition of Web’s Day!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
