SETH MACFARLANE TALKS WITH THR ABOUT FUTURE OF ‘FAMILY GUY’

Ahh yes, a year after The Hollywood Reporter had Seth MacFarlane somewhat question the future of Family Guy, Seth was back at it again with THR but THIS time ar0und we got a more positive outlook from the future Oscar host:

THR: Where are you guys on the Family Guy movie front?

MacFarlane: It’s a question of timing. Is it better to do it while the series is still on, or is it better to do what they did with Star Trek and wrap up their series and then do movies? It’s a little less taxing on production to do that. To me, I think in a perfect world that would be when we do the movie. Of course, there’s something to be said for a show still being on the air when the film comes out. It certainly worked well for The Simpsons. [In 2007, The Simpsons Movie grossed $183 million at the domestic box office.] At this point, there is no game plan.

Teehee….now I really wanna Family Guy Movie. Granted Seth gets asked this question all the time, but I also wanna see some new characters the Ted director can come with both animated and otherwise. Also of note is another ThR article that I thought was entertaining which was pretty much a talk with some of the Family Guy staff on some of their favorite moments from working on the show. In related news, for our Broadway Fans out there, Seth MacFarlane will NOT be performing at the New York Pops Tribute to Sammy Cahn on March 8th and will instead be replaced by Ryan Silverman. You can read more about that on Broadwayworld.
