IT’S WEBS DAY! @MONDOANIMATION’s BOOK ‘EM NERDO, 4th Period Lunch, Off the Curb

Its a new edition of Web’s Day and its all Mondo this week! We got reviews for new pilots Book ‘Em Nerdo and 4th Period Lunch, plus Off the Curb of which provides for some familiar voices! Check it out!

BOOK ‘EM NERDO-“Forget it, Ryu. It’s Chinatown”

A fresh new series from Mondo Mini featuring a cop that dresses up like Chun-Li and fights crime with his disapproving partner. You would think the premise was a little off but co-creators Phaea Crede and Alex Kane seem like they certainly know what they are doing with this one as they give us a good time. The show is animated quite nicely with strong voice-over work and nice script writing that is sure to please even the douchiest of cosplay fans.

4th Period Lunch-Delores Goes To Jail

Think South Park but with ladies and that’s  what I’m kinda getting with this one. Created, Written and Produced by Ilana Cohn & Tyler Spiers, 4th Period Lunch follows a girl named Dolores who strikes up a conversation with girls that she doesn’t even like but she has to because its the early lunch and what are ya gonna do?? The animation is crude but comes out grossingly funny, Dolores is an absolute riot both in script and spirit, and the entire premise is funny as hell and certainly reminds me of my high school lunches. This one’s a keeper.

Off The Curb – Halloween Candy

Off the Curb reunites Reno 911 stars Carlos Alazraqui and Cedric Yarbrough plus John DiMaggio(Futurama) in what is said to be an unscripted animated series. In this one the guys discuss halloween candy, and I like the show as it comes off as almost like the movie BarberShop. The animation is good but familiar but the bread and butter here is the talent and what almost seams like a novel banter going back and forth amongst bros.
