REVIEW: FISH HOOKS “PRINCIPAL BEA”

Bea takes over as school principal when Stickler goes missing.

Principal Stickler is missing causing mass chaos at school. Having been sick of it Bea decides to nominate herself as the new principal and the whole school couldn’t  be happier. The teachers get raises and the students get someone they love as the leader of their educated world. However, one day Bea signs an order to keep all the doors in the school closed which is preventing everyone from leaving for the weekend despite the 1-pm dismissal. Turns out Fishington is a robot and she is the one who got rid of Stickler so that she can pretty much control who takes over.

At the behest of Fishington, Bea turns the school into a prison. Everyone has to wear uniforms, everyone has to follow a bunch of rules, and lastly no….more….muffins! Eventually, Bea tells Oscar and Milo what happened and as such the guys take the principal to an underground anti-Bea group. While there, Milo and Oscar tell the group about Fishington being turned into a robot and as such the class comes up with a plan. A bunch of the kids get together to stage a fight, while Milo, Bea, and Oscar find Stickler in a box. Stickler then leads the kids to a computer room in an effort to shut the cyborg down, but Fishington is already there and as such starts blasting blazers and lasers and all times of ‘asers! Eventually, Bea leads the robot into the infirmary where Fishington knocks over a lava bowl but it doesn’t really affect her. That said it does give Stickler enough time to hack into the robot but the cyborg bitch has a piece stuck in her face and so the kids jump her and remove it. Once completed, the signal from Sticker’s work station hacks into Fishington and knocks her out. Fishington reboots and is back to normal and Stickler names her principal so that he can retire.

I couldn’t help but be giddy over the fact that there were so many Terminator inspired scenes being that I am such a huge fan of the franchise. Everything from Fishington’s half robot face to the climax in both the computer room/infirmary, one couldn’t help but draw conclusions to the popular franchises. That said the plot got fairly predictable and with not a lot of Milo and Oscar, the laughs weren’t really there with exception to the fruit cup gag. I really thought that a half hour episode would help the writers spread their wings a little and give us something special but instead we just get more of the same. That’s not a bad thing, just not a great thing.
