REVIEW: Lego Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu “DOUBLE TROUBLE”

The ninjas fall into a trap set my Garmadon.

Spoilers Below

Wow, the Ninjago sure do have a lot of headaches this week. For one, they are still teaching Lloyd how to better harness the power of Spinitsu which is coming along rather slowly. Then, Garmadon pulls together a meeting of all the Serpentine and runs a poll of what he should create to destroy all the ninjas. After a list of rather terrible ideas, Garmadon decides to create evil clones of the Ninjago, then he sends them into the city to cause a bunch of mayhem throughout downtown and even get a hold of the Ninja’s tank that Nya was working on for the boys.

To make matters worse, Lloyd and the Ninja are duped into visiting the green guy’s alma mater now named Darkley’s. Turns out all the students turned evil and have decided to tie up Lloyd and then trap the rest of the Ninjago. Luckily the Ninjago and the school’s staff find a way out of their trap but end up in a dark cave with a bunch of spiders. Meanwhile, the Evil Ninjago clones show up to the school and pretty much destroy the students at their own game…literally!

Eventually, the Evil and Good Ninjas clash, but they are so evenly matched that they can’t defeat each other. Lloyd then decides to convince his fellow class mates to turn against evil and help him defeat the Evil clones. That’s right, Evil clones are no match for a needle and thread!

Overall, another solid episode of Ninjago, and I was rather surprised that the writers were able to take all of the threads they created for this episode and put them together so that they fit rather eloquently creating strong plots that climax and resolute. I will say the only real laughs to be had this episode were coming from Cole who spent the entire episode looking for cake, but I can’t blame him for that because cake is delicious! Also, Garmadon throwing snakes overboard from a pirate shit never gets old.
