REVIEW: GRAVITY FALLS “DOUBLE DIPPER”
Spoilers Below
Uncle Stan just fixed his copy machine that’s been hiding in the back collecting dust all these years. Turns out this one is different anyway because it allows you to scan and bring to life copies of body parts! Stan is actually putting together a big birthday party to lure kids into his store and hopefully buy shit. Dipper is using this night as an opportunity to help Wendy at the ticket booth and go through his list in hopes of impressing her enough so that she will like him. The crowd lines are getting longer and Wendy is partying so Dipper decides to use a copy machine to clone himself so that his clone can man the ticket booth and the real Dipper can make the moves on Wendy. That is until Wendy introduces Dipper to her new friend…Robbie! To help get rid of Wendy’s friend Robbie, Dipper decides to make a second clone… and then a third…and then a fourth one!!! Even worse, when Dipper gets a chance to dance with Wendy, he gets so nervous that he makes a BUNCH more clones to help and deal with every possible variable that could go wrong.
Eventually, Dipper gets a chance to strike up a conversation with Wendy, but then all the clones get pissed because Dipper isn’t going according to plan so they pretty much turn on him and drag him away into a closet. Thankfully, “Classic Dipper” breaks out but not before getting into an all out Royal Rumble with all his clones which ends in Dip setting off the sprinklers and melting all of then with the exception of clone number 2 aka Tyrone! However, before they go at it they find Wendy back with Robbie and instead decide to call a truce and get a soda. Weirdly enough, after “Tyrone” starts drinking the soda he melts but tells Dipper to be a man and win back his lady!
Mabel decides enter a dance contest in hope of winning the gold crown against the most popular girl in town, Pacifica Northwest but loses out in the end. However, she makes some new friends and they decide to have a sleep over…well that is if they ever get to sleep!
I missed me some Gravity Falls!! And what a way to come back!! The Dipper plot was SO much fun and all of the clones were a real trip, especially Tyrone. This was also one of the few episodes that had a pretty good morale to the story as the others ones more or less ended like an adventure, this one maybe taught younglings about staying true to yourself and having self-confidence. The B-plot with Mabel was only OK, as it clearly felt tacked on but it ended a bit differently then most might expect. I also hope we get to see more of Mabel’s friends because they seemed to be a lot of fun.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
