REVIEW: BLACK DYNAMITE “Elvis Was A Hero To Most or Weekend At Presley’s AKA The Sh*t That Killed The King”

Elvis is revealed as a spy with a mission to destroy the black community.

Spoilers Below

Evidently, President Nixon wants to squeeze out Black Dynamite who is helping keep crime at an all time low and helping the black community to thrive. Turns out, Tricky Dick wants to get rid of said black community so he makes it so drugs are SO cheap that everyone that lives in the ghetto will kill themselves, but with Black Dynamite’s positive influences, everyone in town is pretty straight-edge albeit for one or two base-heads.

Having heard that there is a drug problem in the white community, the KANG Elvis Presley offers his services to stop the black community from poisoning the white community with their drugs.  Once he hits the downtown area, Elvis starts confiscating all the drugs so Black Dynamite shows up to challenge him to a good ol’ fashion scrap in the middle of the ring. Obviously, Elvis gets ass handed to him and promises to stop being a fat fuck of a hypocrite and instead spread the good teachings of Sir Dynamite.. However, after coming in contact with some sort of pancake sandwich, Elvis drops dead! Fearing that Nixon is gonna retaliate by dropping an N-Bomb,  Black Dynamite and his crew leave the black community and meet up with some local yocals who want their Elvis back. After almost getting wasted, the crew speeds off ensuing in a high-speed chase with the Po-po but with a dead Elvis propped up in the back seat and Nixon leading an aerial attack from above.

Thankfully, Honey Bee is able to give the chopper a little head allowing Black and the gang to escape with the fat bastard and land him on his royal throne back in Graceland. Nixon shows up and almost throws down with Black Dynamite but then guess who walks back through the bathroom doors all upright…Mr. Elvis Presley himself!

I love alternate takes on history and Black Dynamite has been serving them up all season long but damn, then this week’s episode showed up having me pretty much guarantee the demise of Elvis Presley but that ending just kicked my ass! The plot was really, really good and the Elvis music montage nearly made me poo myself in laughter. The animation in the chase scene was all sorts of top notch too despite everything that was going on and Arsenio Hall may have been a hero this week. My one gripe with the episode however was the Cream Corn/Honeybee b-plot as I felt it was a tad unnecessary even despite Cream using his new bald weapon in action. I just thought they could’ve ended the bald headed convo back at HQ but then they had that whole diatribe in the car that just seemed to be a hassle. Other than that, its good to be the Kang!
