REVIEW: BLACK DYNAMITE “Panic on the Player’s Ball Express’ or ‘That’s Influenza!’
Black Dynamite is home with the flu during the annual player’s ball.
Spoilers Below
Black Dynamite is home with the flu during the annual Player’s Ball Express, which comes under the attack of Leroy Van Nuys who is looking to take out this Hooooooooo train!! Its all out blood shed as Leroy sends out a bunch of robots who begins to just blast everyone one at a time. Turns out this guy has had it in with pimps for a while now as pimps are responsible for almost killing Leroy and then taking off with his mom, and when Leroy needed a kidney??? No pimps wanted to help out!
Black Dynamite hears about it and heads over to the police station with Sun Tzu to try and warn the cops about what’s going down, but they clearly aren’t going to do anything, so Black dresses up as a pimp and takes a cop-copter to try and take down Leroy only to be pretty much blown out of the sky. Thankfully, Black survives and is able to work his way up to the train and into the pimp car where he gets some flu medicine and starts in on fucking up the robots. Eventually, Black Dynamite kills Leroy and knocks himself out, but he wakes up in time to hear that the train is headed for a huge ass canyon. In a scene pretty much out of Speed, Black throws a bunch of jewelry into the coal furnace powering the train as to give it enough juice to leap over the canyon and saving everyone! But, is Leroy really dead??
Is it Snoop Dogg or Snoop Lion now?? Not a clue, but it looks as though we have a pretty bad-ass new super villain for Black Dynamite! Everything about the guy was pretty awesome and I think the animated series is starting to move out from the shadow of the film and is certainly doing more within the animation world. Case in point, the high-stakes train scene featuring a train that has buzz saws and a pimp catapult! There was also the floating Sun Tzu but I’ll be honest he got to be more annoying than funny during the course of the episode. Black’s fight scene was pretty legit though and the show itself is starting to boast some of the best fight scenes in cartoons (yep, I’m looking at you, Archer). Interesting question that the Adult Swim bump brings up in the Brock Samson vs Black Dynamite fist-fight debate….hmmmmm
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
