REVIEW: REGULAR SHOW “DIARY”
The guys try to fix a lock on Margaret’s diary before she returns from a trip.
Spoilers Below
Margaret’s on vacation and Mordecai and Rigby are tasked with watering her plants while shes away. However, during what seems to be a relatively simple task, Rigby slams into a book shelf and out comes Margaret’s diary. Worse yet, it sprawls out on the floor and the lock snaps which freaks out Mordecai because he thinks that she may accuse the boys of reading her diary. While trying to apply the glue, they put too much on and Rigby tries to take some off with a tissue which of course tatters leaving shit all over Margaret’s book. To try and get the glue off, Mordecai and Rigby decide to melt the glue off over an open grill which then catches fire. To try and put out the fire, Rigby douses the book with lighter fluid which then torches the book which leads to grabbing the book and putting it in the toilet to put the fire out.
To try and get the diary back to normal, the guys turn to Skips for help who decides to perform a seance with the catch being EVERYONE has to keep their eyes closed in order for the ‘rebirth’ of Margaret’s journal. Of course, Rigby doesn’t and as a result unleashes a huge Margaret stomping through down town with the only way to stop being that everyone in the group has to tell a secret. Skips tells his which inflicts damage, followed by Mordecai, and eventually Rigby. The monster gets knocked out, the entire town gets put back together, and Margaret’s diary is all fixed up nice and neat. Margaret comes back, and as it turns out she didn’t need Rigby nor Mordecai to water her plants as Irene was already doing it.
In what seemed to be straight out of Ghostbusters , Regular Show delivers another instant classic that was just awesome. How do you go from just watering plants, to burning a book, to launching a monster mash up! “Diary” THAT’S how!! With some of the finest storytelling in animated shows, Regular Show is a very much either a decent show, or like today, something so out of the ordinary where everything seems to just work! For whatever reason the Margaret and Mordecai episodes seem to be a bit more supernatural than the other episodes but are usually pretty bad ass. Tough to complain about this one as it was flawless.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
