MATT GROENING DREAMS IN DIGITAL: FUTURAMA AND SIMPSONS GO iOS!
The first commenter NOT affiliated with our website that can guess the name of the song and band I just quoted from gets a +1 from me under their comment. In any case, Matt Groening has recently announced a double dose of digital news, check it our after the jump.
1) Bongo Comics recently announced that you can now download a Simpsons Comics iOS app and get digital copies of all your favorite Simpsons related issues. Keep in mind…Simpsons only for right now! No word yet if or when this App or a future one will have digital downloads of Futurama or other Bongo Comics releases. The app itself is being powered by Comixology.com. The app officially launched at the start of Comic Con, and already a handful of issues are available including:
According to a press release obtained from the Bongo Blog:
For the Simpsons Comics iOS app debut, a selection of twenty hand-picked issues from Bongo’s nearly twenty-year history can be bought and downloaded. To celebrate the debut of the app, a free copy of Simpsons Comics #100 will also be available for a short time at comiXology.com. The comics available at launch are:
Bart Simpson #1, 72
Bartman # 1, 2
Lisa Comics #1
Radioactive Man #8, 100
Simpsons Comics #1, 40, 87, 109, 131, 149, 175, 191
Simpsons One-Shot Wonders: Bart Simpson’s Pal Milhouse #1
Simpsons One-Shot Wonders: Ralph Wiggum Comics #1
Simpsons Summer Shindig #1
Simpsons Super Spectacular #1, 15
Digital versions of all new Simpsons comic book titles will be available on the app within a month after their direct market print release, accompanied by selected classic issues from the Bongo archive. After the launch the Simpsons Comics app will offer at least two digital releases each week, featuring both new and classic issues.
2) For a while now iOS customers were the exclusive bearers of the Futurama Head-in A Jar App. Welp, now you can go fuck yourself Apple fans, because Android users now have an app of our own with new features according to a press release from Comedy Central:
In response to fan demand, the creators developed a new Decapodian head-shaped Dr. Zoidberg in addition to the plethora of existing head-shaped offerings for all four species. Other highlights include new backgrounds from the current summer season, additional accessories such as the Brain Slug, expanded name-plate features, more eye, nose and hair options and an updated Robot color palette.
So yea, just in case if you didn’t have enough shit on your mobile devices, here are some more things to behold.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
