SETH MACFARLANE TALKS WITH NY TIMES

When you get to make your own movie you get to do a lot of interviews. Such is the case with Seth MacFarlane whom has been out and about promoting his new feature film Ted which is due for release in theaters this Friday. In this interview with the NY Times Seth was talking about his initial inspiration for the new movie and wouldn’t you know it, Ted was once thought of as an animated series:

It was an idea that I had for an animated series. And when I decided it’s probably about time for me to make a movie, that seemed like a cool idea. The “Avatar”-slash-“Lord of the Rings” technology had reached a point where you could create a fictional-looking character that was completely real in movement. It’s been in adventure films, in fantasy films. Where more than a comedy do you need subtle character actors?

I gotta tell ya, I don’t think there is a chance of a Ted animated series. Think about it have you seen the red band trailer?
