The Gaga Express Train is rolling into town and Springfield is the next stop! One, Lady Gaga decides that she needs to cheer up the most depressing town to live in…SPRINGFIELD! And no one is probably more depressing than Lisa Simpson of whom is upset for winning “Least Popular” at a recent school assembly. Things get worse when a Fourth Grade message board is inundated with a laundry list of compliments towards Lisa from the username “Truth Teller” is actually uncovered by Bart to be none other than little Miss Unpopular herself, sending her running away in tears. Luckily, Gaga’s Spider-sense was tingling, and her train sets off to go find the clearly destroyed Lisa Simpson.
After an impromptu performance for the citizens of Springfield, Gaga confronts and even tries to console Lisa about her recent internet indiscretions to which Lisa is clearly unamused and even refuses the pop sensation’s positive overtures by basically calling out Lady Gaga and everything she stands for. However, after talking with Homer, Lisa runs down the nearly departed Gaga Express to tell Lady Gaga that she is happy mainly due to the fact that she exerted all her pent up rage in their recent exchange and that she is happy the way she is. Lisa is a superstar!
I’ll be honest…I am totally not a fan of Lady Gaga’s music but we do like some of the same bands(she has been seen backstage at Anthrax, Alice Cooper, and Judas Priest concerts). So when I first heard Lady Gaga was going to be on The Simpsons I was skeptical. However, after seeing “Lisa Goes Gaga” I can definitely put my stamp of approval because it was a really great treat from beginning to end. For one, Gaga was FUNNY! I mean, she shows up to Springfield in a train that is wearing a dress and the costumes that the Simpsons writers and art directors thought of reminded me of Inspector Gadget with some of them being able to fly and shoot fire out of the titties…who wouldn’t want that? Also, nothing beats Homer trying to eat Gaga’s pork chop dress as that had me in stitches. Even, the Lady Gaga songs were OK where even the last one with Lisa was great in its execution of teaching good morals and values. I had a few reservations about the plot near the end there, but clearly The Simpsons show that nobody does guest stars like they do as they put together a fitting tribute for a banner 23rd season that will be remembered for a long time coming.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
