REVIEW: REGULAR SHOW “BUSTED CART”
Mordecai and Rigby bust up the cart and have to go on a road trip with Benson to the dealership before the warranty expires.
Spoilers Below
Mordecai and Rigby decide to crash Benson’s golf cart and with only one day left on his warranty Benson has to embark on a trip across the country so that he can place the claim on the crashed vehicle. Feeling terrible about the whole ordeal, Mordecai and Rigby tag along(ok they really snuck into Benson’s truck) to help Benson on his trip. Of course this infuriates Benson to no end, but we do learn that he does have a soft spot for his two crazy employees. Eventually, Benson gets real tired and nearly falls asleep behind the wheel and as a result Mordecai offers to drive the rest of the way to the dealership.
During the trip, the Mordecai and Rigby decide to stop off at an arcade while Benson is asleep, and at first they only promise that they would be in there for 30 minutes, but it ends up being a few hours. When Benson awakens, he flips out and then goes to the bathroom to calm down fearing that he may no longer have a job. Of course when he gets out, Rigby and Mordecai pretty much hi jack his truck and set off on the most dangerous road with the hopes of getting to the dealership on time. Benson then pretty much turns into Vin Diesel and goes Fast and Furious on a motorcycle and catches up to the runaway truck but the tires blow out. After which, Mordecai and Rigby get into the wrecked but still drive-able cart that is in the truck bed and basically use that to tow Benson’s truck to the dealership with only seconds to spare before it closes.
Almost like a Dumb and Dumber meets Regular Show inspired effort, this week’s episode had a bunch of laughs all over. For whatever reason Mordecai and Rigby were extra troublesome tonight which is just fine with me, and seeing them work with Benson was just awesome. I do think some of the themes would’ve been better off for an Adult Swim audience. Ideas like warranties on vehicles, jobs in jeopardy, and getting yelled at by your boss even though something might not be your fault, all beg for an older audience. So yea, for a guy like me this episode was great…but for the target audience?
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
