REVIEW: AMERICAN DAD “THE KIDNEY STAYS IN THE PICTURE”

Spoilers Below

Francine decides to reconnect with an old friend named Kelly via Facebook. Turns out they were chums that used to paint the town red back in the day and together with Hayley they decide to go a new set of rounds. But, after a night of heavy drinking, Hayley drinks so much that her kidneys fail miserably. However, when Stan tries to volunteer as a kidney donor, its here that Francine breaks the news that he may NOT be the father.Turns out a few days before Stan and Francine’s wedding, the soon to be wife got wasted and hooked up with some random dude. Fearing that their daughter may die from kidney failure, Stan and Francine decide to use a time machine to locate Hayley’s potential dad.

Eventually, Stan and Francine stumble onto a guy named Joel that she banged in a nightclub closet but Stan cock blocks the guy. Turns out that was the wrong move and as a result they need to meet up with 90s Stan and Francine to convince them that Francine needs to get with Joel so that Hayley can live. To help their cause, Stan and Francine catch up with the dude who invented ecstasy(Roger) and get a bunch to help inhibit 90s Francine. Meanwhile, present day Francine and Stan go back to THE FUTURE(see what I did there?) then call up an “old friend”(also Roger) to help get present-day Joel’s kidney.

Enjoy it now kids, because there’s NO new American Dad for like the next two weeks!  This was a good one too, and I’m starting to think Seth MacFarlane is having a love-affair with time travel as there was already a Family Guyepisode that premiered late last year that had pretty much the same premise. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, because at least the American Dad plot was different enough that it wasn’t a complete rip off and as such gave us a whole lot of Stan needing to carry this episode. Yes, at times Francine was funny, but I can only take SO much Francine as her voice is like nails on a chalkboard. Thankfully not only was there one Stan but TWO Stans so that helped, but not by a lot.
