REVIEW: THE SIMPSONS “HOW I WET YOUR MOTHER”
Guest Cast Glenn Close: Mona/Scary Voice/Death
Spoilers Below
Homer has a problem with pissing himself while sleeping. Convinced that he is on the wrong side of Karma after a recent foul up at work, Homer holds a work picnic to try and rid himself of feeling guilty, but low and behold the next morning the bed is wet again. To help with the issue at hand, Marge enlists the help of Professor Frink who invented a device that can reach into brain’s subconscious and find out what’s wrong with Homer. During the first dream, the Simpsons end up on the wrong side of a ski slope, which causes them to slip into a second dream reminiscent of the early Simpsons episodes, only to end up in a third dream more inspired by Homer where Flanders is dead, Moe’s are on every corner, and bacon is a type of currency.
Soon enough, Homer and the family are reunited with Mona who helps her son remember why he is having his bed wetting problems. The dream is everything Homer could’ve wanted and more, that is until the cops break into 114 Evergreen Terrace and bust up Frink’s dream machine causing the Simpsons to wake up…or did they?
I’ve seen the movie Inception about 157 times and have been watching the Simpsons for pretty much my entire 27 years of living. This might be the best episode of the last decade for the Simpsons as the parody was played just beautifully by the writing. The plot was hysterical, and going through the different levels of dreams was the most fun I’ve had watching television since the Imagination Land episode of South Park. Having Glenn Close in the episode playing the role of Death was just icing on the cake, and the Simpsons show the world that they are still the cream of the crop. I’m going to do something crazy here folks, I’m giving this week’s episode a score we haven’t given out here yet at Bubbleblabber. It’s a score that embodies perfection and pretty much deems “How I Wet Your Mother” as a classic that will stand the test of time. Put on your sunglasses, because here is the golden thumb!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
