DVD REVIEW: BEAVIS AND BUTT-HEAD VOLUME 4

Yea, I know it’s late, but give us a break its only our SECOND DVD Review ever here on Bubbleblabber as we got a TON of great feedback from the last DVD review we did of Good Vibes Season 1. As such, we decided to do another one, this time we decided to do a review for the recently released Beavis and Butthead Volume 4.

As it stands right now, a new season of Beavis and Butthead is still up in the air, as negotiations are running thick between Judge and MTV on bringing the show back. As we reported last week, MTV’s other animated series Good Vibes  was cancelled and we here at Bubbleblabber are hoping that Beavis and Butthead do NOT meet the same fate.

The good news is, that Beavis and Butthead did have an eighth season, and we could not have asked for a more glorious return as no one was safe this season. Everything from terrible music videos coming from shitty bands like MGMT and LMFAO to the skewered roastings of Jersey Shore and Teen Mom. Although to be honest, a lot of those shows were comical(albeit for different reasons) without Beavis and Butthead, but I think the pure genius of Mike Judge was him showing the predominately male viewership that he was bringing in ad dollars for MTV,  how completely absurd the kind of programming  this network typically brings to the table. Ordinarily, guys like me would never know about some of the terrible shit MTV has on because usually that network caters to 16 year old girls, and guys who desperately want to be 16 year old girls both in mind and in spirit. This is mainstream satire at its finest and few do it better than Mike Judge.

For those who don’t know or have never experienced the greatness that is Beavis and Butthead, its a show about two borderline retarded teenagers, who are obsessed with sex and rock & roll(God Bless ’em!) , and live at home with no adult supervision which causes the guys to get into all sorts of mischief and mayhem. They also like to spend their afternoons critiquing terrible music videos and stupid reality shows typically seen on the network formerly known as Music Television. Mike Judge  is not only the creator of the series, but he also lends his vocal abilities for Beavis and Butthead, as he pretty much does the entire cast minus Stewart and Daria.

And to better help you make your decision, here is a list of every episode of Beavis and Butthead and corresponding links to reviews, with some of my personal favorite episodes being “Whorehouse;Going Down“, “The Rat; Spill“, and “Holy Cornholio“. Howard Stern loves this show, I love this show, and millions of fans the world over love this show…isn’t time that YOU love this show?
