REVIEW: THE CLEVELAND SHOW “THERE GOES EL NEIGHBORHOOD”

Cleveland’s cultural misunderstandings with his popular new Latina neighbor, Choni, lead him to show off his knowledge of Hispanic culture. He also offers to babysit Choni’s son. Meanwhile, Junior sets up his new wife, Cecilia, on a Valentine’s Day date, but his jealousy gets the better of him.

Spoilers Below

Choni moves in across the street from The Browns and after being accused of breaking into her huge mansion by Cleveland, its anything but hospitable First theres a whole competition between the two neighbors about who has the biggest Super Bowl party, then Choni, steals all of Cleveland’s friends, leaving him by himself to watch the big game, heck even his own family turns on him!

Turns out we are going through all this because Choni thinks Cleveland is a racist. As such, she offers to teach Cleveland all about Mexican culture with a song from Avenue Q. Things start looking up until hes asked to baby sit Choni’s son Marco, and subsequently loses him!

Of course, right after the Super Bowl is Valentine’s Day, and Junior opts to try and help his new wife Cecilia in asking out a different guy named Tyler at school.  That is until Junior gets all jealous and puts a temporary stop to it.

Overall this was a great episode that had more elements from a classic Family Guy like with Rallo’s decapitated head, but the real deal was Junior’s face whenever he’d see his wife getting hit on by Tyler. Id love to see more Cecelia episodes just to get more of that, but I wonder with the introduction of the new Hispanic family, will the Cleveland Show take on an identity that’s less Family Guy and more like the show Rob!(starring Rob Schneider on CBS).
