REVIEW: FAMILY GUY “Meg and Quagmire”

Quagmire is the only guest at Meg’s 18th-birthday party and soon they hit if off—much to her parents’ distress, of course. Peter is especially miffed and won’t rest until he stops his Lothario neighbor from having his way with his daughter.

The Griffins are at the Teen Choice Awards…hahahahah! Probably the best take on how shitty award shows can be, and an even better way the event ends! Apparently, this is Meg’s 18th birthday present, and only ONE person shows up to the party…QUAGMIRE!  As a result, they soon become best of friends, almost a biiiiit too friendly, even becoming text buddies.

Soon the relationship gets serious between Quagmire and Meg, and Peter gets concerned even confronting Quagmire at his house threatening to stop it at once! However, Lois is in full support of her daughter and helps distance Peter and Meg, that is until she finds out that Quags is taking her daughter to a cabin called “Stuff It Inn”, in which case she enlists the help of her husband to go chase them down and get their daughter back.

You know, I think Family Guy is trying to change its style a bit. They certainly have scaled back on the number of cutaways but still preserving the raucous comedy that we have all come to know and love.  Tonight’s episode was kind of different from the normal affair, although it still had a sprinkle of classic Family Guy with bits such as Mort’s Jewish Fight Club and the Peterdactyl,  this episode just felt different focusing on Quagmire’s creepiness towards Meg, and the way the show opened with the Teen Choice Awards made it all worth the three or four weeks we haven’t had new Family Guys. Here’s hoping in a couple years, Seth doesn’t regret writing any of the jokes found in this episode
