JOHN’S REVIEW: ARCHER “THE MAN FROM JUPITER”

Season 3 premiere: Sterling is very upset when he learns that Malory is dating his hero (and man-crush) Burt Reynolds (who provides his own voice). More upset, in fact, than he is about the Cuban hit squad that’s out to get him.

What a way for the greatest spy in the history of the world to come back pissing vinegar. With a Cuban hit squad after his ass…you would think our fabled hero, Archer would have pressing matters,  however he is more annoyed about the fact that Burt Reynolds is in town “schtooping” Mallory. Heart-broken, Sterling decides to kidnap his hero, Reynolds and hold him from dating his mother which causes ISIS to get into a frenzy and get her new leading man back before Malory goes ballistic.

The greatest car chase in the history of animated television ensues with the Cubans chasing after ISIS, Archer and Reynolds chasing after the Cubans, and the cops chasing after Archer and Reynolds. Get all that? Good. But leave it to Archer and Burt to turn a high speed chase into a man on man conversation about how important Mallory is.

Lo and behold, the legendary international man of mystery is back, and he means business! I saw this episode way back in November at the Paley Center in NYC and it was hysterical with everyone in the aisles madly laughing, and guess what.? This episode still rules, and may have just given us the best guest spot ever. I couldn’t help but crack up the three or four times Burt Reynolds would just let out a nonchalant giggle in the most inopportune time, or how about right in the middle of the car chase with Burt having a tickle fest with Sterling? Comedy gold…hope you kids are ready…because Archer  is back and better than ever!
