#NYCC: Comedy Central phones it in…
Comedy Central has had a great 2011. Workaholics is picking up in steam, Tosh.O is going strong, and South Park “Year of the Fan” has been pretty awesome. So you would think Comedy Central has a shit ton of NEW things to talk about for the upcoming year, right? Turns out…not really.
Do you know what the highlights were for this year’s panel for Comedy Central @ NYComicCon? For starters there was a Q&A with Arthur Bradford director of the “6 days to Air” doc about the making of South Park. I’m not going to do a write about that because everyone’s seen the special and is essentially ancient history at this junction and if I need any insight I’ll wait for the DVD. I want something new…well there was ONE thing new. Wanna know what it was?
Fresh off the release of the critically-acclaimed Ugly Americans Apocalypsegeddon game for Xbox 360/PS3, Comedy Central has announced South Park “Scott Tenorman’s Revenge” set to release Spring 2012 exclusively on XBOX Live Arcade.
I’ll be honest…I didn’t even go to the panel. And now I’m glad I missed it because I only own a PS3 and don’t plan on shelling out for an Xbox 360 any time soon. But, for the most part I was pissed because that was all they had! Shit, why not some stand-up comedy there, Comedy Central? I mean I was at the Heart, She Holler panel for Cartoon Network and that had Patton Oswalt and David Cross with some of the funniest banter of the weekend gala!
Now if you’ll excuse me, I am going to dust-off my copy of the original South Park game for PSOne and listen to David Cross’ Bigger And Blackerer’.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
