TruTV Puts in Development “Greenhouse” from Titmouse, Inc

Welcome to 2016, when Marijuana shops become the centerpiece of an animated family comedy.

It’s not enough that Titmouse, Inc debuted in theaters it’s long-awaited feature-length Nerdland, the TV studio behind projects like Venture Bros., Metalocalypse, and other TV shows you already know has teamed up with Matt Bush and the hilarious Martin Starr for an upcoming animated series called Greenhouse.

According to Deadline.com, Greenhouse is a 30-minute animated comedy in development that explores the complicated relationships that exist within one family-owned marijuana shop in Seattle, Wash.

It’s early, but the show sounds like a great idea. For me it helps start to separate what purposes are served by Turner Broadcasting’s Adult Swim, TBS, and TruTV in terms of content, more specifically, comedic content. What this development project tells me is that MAYBE TBS is sticking with the more family-friendly stuff, while TruTV is geared towards an Adult Swim crowd that might want more long-form content that isn’t anime.

This isn’t the first time that Titmouse has had its cartoons featured on TruTV as they help produce the Celebrity Storytelling bit that appears on Rachel Dratch’s Late Night Snack.
