Yesterday, we took a look at my number eight and seven moments in Naruto history! Today, we take a look into Naruto’s lineage, and the introduction of the most tragic character in this show. So, enough dicking around, let’s get to number 6!

#6: We Meet Dad!

Naruto Shippuden Episodes 167 and 168

For as long as Naruto has been doing the things that ninjas do, he doesn’t have a family. According to the rumors, Minato Namikaze (the fourth Hokage) subdued the nine-tailed fox, and sealed half of the demon into a baby named Naruto. The other half, was sealed away with the Reaper Death Seal, as seen here:

This should look a little familiar to the long time Naruto followers, because that is the same sealing jutsu that Sarutobi used to seal Orochimaru’s ability to do any form of Ninjutsu. It’s the best seal, requiring the user to off himself to use the seal. Death, for winning…seems legit. This man was so fast, he earned the nickname, “The Yellow Flash.” He was chosen by Jiraiya to be his disciple, because he was forseen to be the child of destiny. Does this seem familiar? Because it’s almost the same exact line of plot that his son had. Oh wait! Naruto is his son!

This is something that has been strongly hinted at; kind of like hinting at the color of the sky by calling it cerulean. And for all of the shit Minato has put Naruto through, The fourth gets a stiff uppercut to his stomach for a thanks. Anyway, back to Minato. This guy was heralded as the most powerful ninja. So much so, because legend says he was able to stop that Fox Demon. He had Jiraiya as a mentor, as well as Sarutobi. One should have been Hokage, and the other was the third.

And like I talked about earlier, he created the Rasengan, a jutsu so powerful that he wasn’t able to fully master it. This is just like only certain people were able to use Kakashi and Sasuke’s Chidori, only more powerful. The jutsu he has is out of this world. A preview of his badass ways came in Naruto Shippuden: The Lost Tower, where you get a glimpse of both Flying Thunder God techniques. That’s used when he needs to get somewhere fast, either by teleporting to a specific spot, or to the Flying Thunder God kunai he has.

There is so much that hasn’t been said yet, you are doing a disservice to yourself by not finding out. Listen, I can’t lie. This guy is too insane for words. There is so much coming this season, you will have your jaw dropped. Just trust me. What you’ve seen and heard so far pails in comparison to what you see later.

#5: Itachi’s Debut

Naruto Episodes 80-85

Let me paint a picture for you. The Leaf Village just got invaded by Orochimaru, and Sarutobi is dead. The village is in chaos, and up in arms. Who would be insane enough to walk right in and just say hi?

Sasuke’s older brother, Konoha’s missing ninja, and the master of Tsukuyomi, are all names for the one man who would, Itachi Uchiha. Itachi graduated the ninja academy at 7, awakened the Sharingan at 8, joined the ANBU black ops squad as a kid, and became an ANBU captain by 13. By then, his entire clan was planning to overthrow Konoha, and  Itachi was asked to erase his clan for the betterment of the village. And that he did, except for Sasuke. Itachi caught him inside Tsukuyomi, and made him go through everything Itachi did. Itachi made pacts with Danzo and Tobi to keep Sasuke safe, and join the Akatsuki, to keep up appearances. If Sasuke was harmed, all of the villages secrets that he knew of would be leaked.

Let’s get back to the here and the now. He walked right in, looking to serve as a reminder that he was still alive and making sure Danzo keeps his word. He stopped for tea. Let me repeat. He stopped for fucking tea in the village that wants him dead! That plan went very well, because he was first met by Kakashi, and later by Azuma, Kurenai, and Gai. So far, Kakashi was one of the most badass characters. Itachi walked in, and just toyed with Kakashi, catching him in Tsukuyomi. The psychological trauma that the victim endures is so bad, only Tsunade is able to cure it. This is one of the most powerful eye techniques in the show, next to the Rinnegan’s Gedo: Art of Rinne Rebirth.

He only left when the rest of the ANBU were alerted. Jiraiya and Naruto left the village to find Tsunade, but that got Itachi and Kisame on their tail. The Akatsuki duo caught up to them at an inn, where they almost acquired Naruto, except Sasuke showed up, and got his ass handed to him. Jiraiya used his Frog-jutsu to catch Itachi, but he used Amateratsu to get out fast. Seeing as this is the second time Amateratsu is mentioned, let’s go into that. This jutsu, again, comes from the Sharingan, same as Tsukuyomi. This is a black flame that never extinguishes until what ever it touches burns into nothing. Itachi is on a level with only a select few, at this point.

Let’s go over this: gifted student, slayed his entire clan, joined the Akatsuki, toyed with Kakashi, and held his own against Jiraiya. Not many people can to any of this, let alone all of this. What slayed me was that Itachi knows he can take on any single person in the village, he just walks in through the front gate, and has tea. He is this powerful, yet he has some sort of medical problem, where he keeps coughing up blood. Also, all of the uses of his eye techniques is pushing him to blindness. He was fighting while not being able to see right.

Let’s surmise on this a little. Itachi is the definition of power, dedication, and loyalty. Tomorrow, we will look at the depths of Itachi’s dedication and loyalty, all the while how his plan to make Sasuke strong turned out. Tomorrow is going to be a deep look into the Uchiha siblings!
