IGN TALKS TO JOHN CHO–LEAKS DEETS ABOUT @ADULTSWIM HAROLD & KUMAR ANIMATED SERIES

IGN TALKS TO JOHN CHO–LEAKS DEETS ABOUT ADULT SWIM HAROLD & KUMAR ANIMATED SERIES

You may or may not know that John Cho is set to be a supporting character in the upcoming live-action comedy series starring Matthew Perry in a new series called Go On set to premier this Fall on NBC. Welp, recently IGN.com had a chance to talk to John about the show and his upcoming role, but he was also asked about the much talked about Harold & Kumar animated series set to hit Adult Swim sometime in the near future:

IGN: It seems like with animation, the sky’s the limit. You can pretty much do whatever you want.

Cho: Yeah. I was saying when we were pitching it, I was telling [Harold and Kumar creators] John and Hayden, our pitch should just be “Harold and Kumar Go to Space,” “Harold and Kumar Go to Hell,” “Harold and Kumar Go to the American Revolution.” I mean, that could be the whole pitch. Anything’s possible. I think 90 percent of the appeal of our series is “Harold and Kumar Go to…” It’s just something that is familiar and promises entertainment.

Somewhere out there Jim Varney is flipping in his grave, that said from the sounds of the interview the show is still a ways off from completion for a pilot as the actor just got the first script. Sooo, mid 2013 maybe???

THAT’S ALL FOR THIS WEEK FOLKS!

Would definitely like to take this opportunity to thank AdultSwimCentral.com’s Sentroid91 for inviting me on his Swimcast podcast this past Thursday night as it was a lot of fun talking about the Adult Swim upfront with him and all of his crew. Let’s take a look at what else we did this week, shall we?

>>>We did reviews and previews of the season finale of American Dad, Regular Show, Metalocalypse, Robots Feel Nothing…, and the rest of the Animation Domination including previews of the upcoming season finales of The Simpsons, Family Guy, Bobs Burgers, and The Cleveland Show.

>>>Dethklok announced a North American trek with Lamb of God and Gojira and you can see those dates here!

>>>We talked about John C. Reilly’s new movie Wreck it Ralph

>>>At their upfront event, Adult Swim announced the pick up of the Harold and Kumar animated series plus a whole bunch more like the 2012 returns of Venture Bros., China IL, and The Boondocks!

>>> FOX announced their 2012-2013 schedule as well which includes the brand new 90 minute animation block known as AniDom HD

>>>NBC’s Community went 8-bit on Thursday night, and you can catch the review for that here.

Til next week! Sayonara!!

Harold and Kumar the Animated Series on the way?

Harold and Kumar the Animated Series on the way?

Fresh off the recent opening of “A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas” The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that there is an animated series in the works based off of the movie franchise of the same name.

Now, me I never really got into the movies and I don’t intend to. The first movie pissed me off because it took place in NJ and was completely inaccurate from a geographical point-of-view( they literally pass by 7 towns that I know for a fact have White Castles) and movies that have Kal Penn in it usually suck. I have a few questions about the proposed animated series like is Neil Patrick Harris gonna take part in it?? You would think with the “How I Met Your Mother”(of which Kal Penn is also a part of) shit he would be pretty busy even though he’s certainly had his fair share of voice work in the past, but what do I know? The article also said that several networks were interested in the series but I could almost guarantee none of them are Fox. If I were betting I’d put my money on either Comedy Central or FX.
