These Speedrun Videos Show One-Minute-Long Movie Plots

FC speedrun

Would you like know the plot of a movie without spending two hours watching it or five minutes reading a Wikipedia description? You’re lazy. Then we have the solution for you:

Speedruns. (Don’t worry, it doesn’t involve actual running, or any type of digestive issues.) Coming from the minds at 1A4STUDIO, these short cartoons are structured similarly to video game speedruns, in which a player will complete a game or level as quickly as possible, oftentimes posting a video of it afterward. The animation is very simple and involves no color, and the dialogue is fast, squeaky, and sounds kind of like an Asian stereotype. The lines spoken aren’t direct quotes, and they play fast-and-loose with specific scenes, but with the gist of the plot still remaining and some extra humor added.

The first film spreedrun posted was Back to the Future, which was exceptional, and was soon followed by movies like the first Star Wars (Episode IV, NOT Episode I), Aliens, and Pulp Fiction. They even did a few of my favorite flicks, such as Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and Fight Club, but I feel the absolute best speedrun was the one for The Big Lebowski. It’s definitely a must watch for any fan.

The last episode (#13 overall) was 2001: A Space Odyssey, which was released two weeks ago. I will eagerly be awaiting the next installment, and you will too, if you watch all the others.

Come on, it’ll only take 13 minutes of your time. Don’t act like you’re busy.
