Mega Kid and Dr. Wirey square off in the battle of Science Class! Find out how it ends after the jump!

Spoilers Below

When I first saw the cast of 16-Bit High, I wanted to see them take on Mega-Man in their own way. It’s taken me a while, but we finally got it! I know I go on nostalgia kicks with this show, but the content just makes me do it. I grew up on Mario, Mega-Man, and the like. This show just draws me to it every week. And with that, it’s epic battle time!

The kids are sitting in science class, waiting on their teacher, when a substitute comes in! That man, is Dr. Wirey. He gives a story of how their normal teacher got abducted by a gorilla, so he has come in to teach them how to build a candy dispensing robot. He uses his, but forgets that it’s set to obliteration, and poor Cloud gets incinerated. After a couple of adjustments, the robot dispenses a room full of cotton candy. Everyone jumps in, except for Mega Kid. He seems very suspicious of Dr. Wirey. So, he spends the walk home trying to convince the group to not trust him. They don’t buy it. He tries to convince his friends that Wirey’s an end boss, but they get somewhat offended Mega Kid douldn’t even get them to agree when Wirey blew up cars to clear the road.

They break into Dr. Wirey’s home, and are attacked by a robot saying “Destroy!” Mega Kid destroys it, much to Wirey’s dismay. Turns out that this was a cancer curing robot, and Mega Kid accuses him of being an End Boss. Wirey was, but he is trying to atone for it. Wirey walks into the cancer ward, tells them that the bot was destroyed. A character that looks like Earl from Toejam and Earl tells Mega Kid that it’s ok, because he doesn’t have to grow up now. Unfortunately, that’s just before he has a coughing fit that ends in a fountain of blood.

This episode was funny in the fact that the nerd always thinks that he has all of the answers, but is proven wrong when it comes to the human element. To me, Mega Kid borders on psychosis for almost the entire episode, and finally breaking when he was proven wrong after killing Cancer-Bot. This episode builds on a character that is quickly becoming a favorite of mine.
