We are back with another edition of Fixin’ It With Soos! This time around Soos is fixing Grunkle Stan’s broken clock. But is he ‘fixing’ it or making it more awesome?!

The episode begins with Soos telling us that he has a clock that is “tore up from the floor up” thanks to Stan knocking it down. Cut to a scene of Stan wailing on the chiming clock with a baseball bat. He doesn’t seem to understand that the point of a cuckoo clock is to cuckoo on the hour. Once Soos is finished fixing the clock, Stan will be the one to rate his work on the Awesomeometer.

After a short cut scene featuring Soos in his underwear (“Hey, you”), we see that the clock is, indeed, fixed. Despite the cut scene telling us that Soos also used wood glue, it looks like the clock is solely held together with duct tape. So Soos decides that it needs decorations.

Enter Mabel.

She suggests making it leopard print. Soos not only makes it leopard print, he also hangs dice off the bottom. This sets off a whole series of bad decorating decisions. First up, a beach house addition. Then the bird needs “homies.” (Kurt, Jayden, Carlos, and D’Andre.) From there we add boomboxes, a slide, a ball pit, a pyrotechnics kit, real animal fur, and lasers. LASERS, DUDE! Once Soos deems it “too dope,” they cover the clock and bring in Grunkle Stan to rate the work. Stan is understandably disturbed by Team Mabel and Soos.

Soos whips the sheet off of the new cuckoo clock to reveal the base clock covered with random garish items. Things like a silly straw, a baseball trophy, and a syrup bottle hang precariously from the clock along with much more junk. To top it off, colored lights swirl around the invention while “This is an awesome cuckoo clocks” crawls across an LED screen. When Stan asks why the clock is permanently set to 1:50, Soos replies with the obvious answer: “It’s hands are in the air like it just doesn’t care.” Stan ends up rating the job a 10 out of 10 on the basis that it doesn’t make an annoying cuckoo sound any more.

This is when we are bombarded by terrible CG telling us that the problem has been solved. However, this has broken Soos’s computer, which he promises to fix next time. Well, he probably could fix it if it didn’t burst into flames first. Now it is just fodder for the explosions reel.

Just like the previous episode, this one aired overseas long before it aired here in the United States. This time it was Italy that beat us to the punch. They saw this back on March 28.  Even though there was only about one month’s difference, it was definitely worth waiting to see the episode in English. Soos and Mabel have so much fun together trying to make the clock better. I’m not sure they succeeded but it was an interesting journey nonetheless.

Unfortunately, this is the final episode of Fixin’ It With Soos. There is another short tomorrow but it begins a new series simply titled TV Shorts. I can only hope that it is as much fun as these past two episodes have been.
