Shorts Review: Giraffe Cops ”Final Draft”

Take BoJack Horseman and mix it with Brooklyn 99, and you’ve got an idea of what Giraffe Cop is. It stars two giraffes named Gary and Terry who work at a police station. The two are, so far, the only walking talking animals in not just their department, but all over town which makes them two of a kind.

Terry acts as a more abrasive and sarcastic character whereas Gary is a bit more of the worry wart. We meet their police chief whom used to be an asshole, but now seems like an ok guy. As a matter of fact, that’s what I don’t like about the series. The ‘About’ says the series follows two giraffe detectives’  as they do their best to bust bad guys and try not to get fired. During the course of the episode, I feel like that there is no chance these guys are getting fired because their Chief is rather lenient, especially when they wreck their squad cars. I have also not seen any challenges in two giraffes in a world of people, so maybe that’s something that comes later.

Giraffe Cops is good, if not great. The two main characters are funny, but I’m struggling to find out what Gary and Terry have to fear in being Giraffe Cops is, as a result I’m not wondering ‘What’s Next?’.
