Seth MacFarlane being sued for bottle opener
Gotta love America…
One, Michael Cram is suing Seth MacFarlane and the producers of the original Ted special edition home release for using his patented bottle opener as part of the package without proper license. Ironically enough, Seth’s Family Guy has a license in place, but not Ted. As a result, Michael wants like a bunch of money for what he feels is a tactic that will completely destroy his existing business.
Check out the case file over at The Hollywood Reporter.
I think this guy could have a point. He claims to have sold 10 million of these things and there’s licensing deals all over the place including NASCAR, the NFL, MLB, and others and while I don’t share his enthusiasm on the amount of damage that could cause, I could certainly see enough case being put together where a settlement could occur.
Hi Ashley, thank you so much for reading and we love the feedback. Note that on that day we had 14th posts go up and only ten posts show on the front page, so it's possible the preview had already been archived by the time you got to it. One recommendation would be to add our RSS feed to your favorite news aggregator service like Feedly, this way you get all of the latest posts!
