Review: We Bare Bears “Lucy’s Brother”

Pan-Pan loves Lucy.

Lucy’s got her brother Clifford for the day, but she still has a bunch of fruit deliveries to make, so when she drops by the bear cave, Panda offers to watch the little guy while Ice Bear and Grizz help Lucy with her deliveries. Doing this, Panda thinks it will improve his chances of eventually being married to Lucy. Turns out, Clifford is hypo-allergenic, and we learn this the hard way when he discovers Panda’s ulterior motives and accidentally comes in contact with a jar of peanut butter. Panda’s allergic too and comes in contact with the peanut butter as he gives chase to Clifford who flips out at first, but then is in need of his allergy pen. Panda saves him, apologizes to Cliff, and Cliff returns the favor by saving Pan-Pan from and untimely demise. Lucy and the bears come home and everything appears to be fine, and Lucy was able to make all of her deliveries.

Our Take

I would’ve liked to have seen a bit more conflict arise in Lucy’s part of the story, but “Lucy’s Brother” was a nice effort overall. I think there are a lot of kids and parents out there that can relate to being allergic to or having kids that are allergic to everything and the importance of being aware of those allergies. I thought overall, the episode was pretty funny, definitely being filed in the trope folder entitled “what guys will do for love” category.
