Review: We Bare Bears “$100”

Let’s cash in with a new episode of We Bare Bears!

Spoilers Below

The baby bears are living in a makeshift house in an alley. Every day, Grizz goes out to find food and other items for the household. When he gets home, their friend Cory brings them each a daily coupon.

One day, a strange briefcase appears in Grizz’s haul. Ice Bear breaks open the case and they find a hundred dollar bill inside. At first, the bears dream about what they could buy. However, none of them could bear to part with Hundy. They decide to make Hundy a part of their family. They even introduce Hundy to their friend, Cory. Suddenly, the bears begin to argue over who should stay home to care for Hundy. Each of them pulls at the bill until it rips. They put a bandage on the rip and decide to let Hundy rest so he can recover. While they all sleep, someone sneaks in to steal the money.

Realizing that Hundy is gone, the bears wake up and chase the masked thief. During a fight on a fire escape, they manage to rip the mask off the thief to find Cory. Yes, their friend stole from them. The fire escape breaks, tossing Cory into the dumpster below. Grizz and Ice Bear desperately hold onto the fire escape. Panda has to make a decision whether to save Hundy or his brothers. He chooses his brothers, of course. With the little bears safe, the bill floats away on the wind. Below, a police officer has found Cory in the trash. The bears tell the officer how Cory tried to steal from them and the officer arrests the teen. Now the bears just have to find food.

While this wasn’t an amazing episode, it did show the lesson about money ruining relationships. The bears were fine when they were poor but they started fighting once they had money. The same goes for their friendship with Cory. They all got along well until Cory found out they had money then he decided he needed it. The bears weren’t happy again until the money was gone. It’s a good lesson but, then again, the bears are starving. Maybe some money would be a good thing after all.
