REVIEW: UNSUPERVISED “NITS”

An outbreak of head lice threatens Gary and Joel’s plans to hook up with girls at a school dance.

Spoilers Below

Joel is shocked to find Gary hooking up with a girl at school. As it turns out, Tina is her name and she is Gary’s date to the formal dance, or what the guys call “A Night of a Thousand Lights”. Its the freshman class’s first big dance, and Joel is going with “Rocket Tits” Danielle and Darius is going with Lisa, but Meg is going with no one.  Everything’s going right, until Joel tries on Russ’s new army helmet which is infested with NITS! Of course, Joel and Russ start to freak out, but more so Joel because he actually has a friggin’ date…well he did until Danielle gives a note to Greg that she is going to the dance with Jojo instead of Joel as a result of his “illness”, and what sucks more is that Joel has NO ONE to go with because soon enough even Meg gets to play wing man opposite Danielle with a guy named “Dirt”.

Everyone makes it to the dance, which is both a good thing or a bad thing, depending on who you are talking to. Darius catches his girl cheating on him, Meg and Danielle almost get booked by the cops on the way over, things get serious with Tina and Gary, and Russ goes as Joel’s date to the dance. Strange enough however, when the night goes on Gary and Joel’s luck tends to switch where Joel ends up with the lady and Gary ends up with God damn nits!

This was the funniest episode of Unsupervised since the premier. First and foremost Kaitlin Olson was absolutely hysterical as Danielle, I mean she says some extreme like offering up a ‘love list’ of things Joel can do to her, and her freaking out in the back seat of a car while the cops pull over Jojo and Dirt. But, the prize has to go to Joel, his back and forth ramblings work so great, not just with Gary, but when he pleads his case to Danielle on why she should go to the dance with him is the stuff babies are made of. Just pure gold here, and this was also Russ’ best episode as he keeps trying to start a ‘nit wits’ team with Joel. If you aren’t watching this show, you are doing a dis-service to humanity, its so so good. For fans of Superbad, this show is for you.
