REVIEW: UNSUPERVISED “RICH GIRL”

Spoilers Below

Gary’s mom(played by Kaitlin Olson) is a big time stoner, and its getting worse due to her random bouts of depression. And wouldn’t you know it,Maynard High has a new student named Allie, and shes a goth drug addict, too. And with Gary and Joel’s distaste for drugs, they decide to show the new girl that you can have fun while not under the influence of narcotics, including their recently created lake!  All the meanwhile Megan is more or less left in the shadows even though its her job to intro the new people on their first day of school, but really just helps feed Allie’s addiction with lines of period pill and eventually becomes a resident pothead, too. So with all this in mind, you would think Allie is poor as shit like Gary and Joel, but no as it turns out she’s stupid rich.

Well not THAT rich, Allison’s dad is a dentist, and he is shocked to learn that the boys have NEVER been to a dentist in their lives. As such, he offers to give them free dental exams which Gary uses to come up with a fool proof plan, hook up his mom Carol, to Allie’s dad Darren at a BBQ! However, shit gets stinky when one of Carol’s old flames come by to smooth things over with his former lady.  But, never fear, cuz Sid is here!

This show is great, and judging by all the comments on the Unsupervised Facebook page, this show is getting rave reviews from fans all over. Gary is great, but Joel is starting to accrue some of the best one-liners in television. Everything from:

You get your period, thats bad ass!

“I brush my teeth with milk some times so they get vitamins, but they still hurt!

shows that David Hornsby has the chops to go toe-to toe with anyone in voice-over. Also, I thought it was pretty neat that this episode has Gary and Joel turning down drugs on more than a few occasions. Its something that is pretty rare nowadays as most see toking about as rudimentary as eating, but these guys fight it which really brings a breath of fresh air to a genre that at times is nothing but pot jokes.
