REVIEW: UNSUPERVISED “FIELD OF DREAMS…AND DOGS”

In an attempt to surround themselves with good influences, Gary and Joel decide to manage the high school baseball team.

As luck would have it, the two biggest cheerleaders for Maynard High School are Gary and Joel, however they almost become radical-extremist cheerleaders had it not been for Principal Skunk warning them about their bad behavior and turning them onto a more positive approach in support of the school. As a result, the guys take it up with the high school baseball team as team managers, and God-bless em because even though its a tough job that includes picking up trash, and fighting off a wolf, they actually take it in stride and act as great sports!

They even decide to take it to the next level, by trying to help cool off the rising violent tensions between Maynard and their arch rivals Rockland. However, there plan for peace goes awry when Russ comes by and spray paints all over the school’s lockers causing Gary and Joel to lose their manager privileges and being suspended from school! Joel can’t take it though and decides to follow in his family’s footsteps into the grouting business leaving Gary to face suspension all by himself. Soon, Gary also quits, deciding to follow in his dad’s footsteps into being a homeless dude. However, both kids soon decide against their respective shitty futures and decide to make it to the big game before a fight breaks out. Unfortunately, for Gary and Joel, some traditions never die.

Overall another solid episode from Hornsby & Crew. I really love the positive messages this show is trying to send to guys like me. Its a great complement to the normal “fuck society” shows like South Park and Family Guy kinda giving me  a whole balance if you will. Yes the storyline of, “the guys join the baseball team” has been done a hundred times before, but what this episode may have lacked in originality more than makes up for it with its messages of teamwork, positive influences, and not drying your hair after its been dyed.
