“The Roast of Twayne Boneraper” is here to help commemorate 10 years of Twayne’s faithful service to the D.O.I. and it starts out great,  even including a guest appearance by the Queen of Roasts Lisa Lampagnelli! However, when Mark gets a chance at the mic, he ends up saying mean and hurtful things to Twayne at the behest of the crowd, thereby ruining the evening and Twayne quitting on the spot as the Director in favor of Mark.

First thing Mark does at his new post is he checks out the budget only to find out about 65% of said budget goes to funding a Department of Birthdays. Its here where all the employees of the D.O.I. get their birthday cakes made by Guy Fieri and their songs written especially for them. Feeling compelled to save on cost for the D.O.I. Mark shuts down the Department of Birthdays RIGHT before Goose Kevin is set to celebrate his own!  This causes all sorts of anarchy with a bunch of different groups all seceding from a peace treaty, causing a full on riot to break out all through Manhattan!!

Meanwhile, Twayne is utterly depressed by his roast because of Mark, so Randall(who actually wrote Mark’s jokes) puts him through a self-help program written by Randall himself. You would think this sounds worse than it really is, but Randall actually does end up helping Twayne get over his worries and eventually stops the downtown riots and thus reclaiming his rightful post.

It makes perfect sense that when you get a roast, animated or otherwise, its on fucking Comedy Central! The B-plot with Randall trying to help out Twayne was funny as hell with the best part being Randall’s attempt to poison Twayne while he hits on a random girl at a restaurant. The A-plot was great too, I mean who seriously thinks of a Birthday Department? I would kill for one of those departments with all that talk of cake, and well cake! But I digress, all the guest spots were really great and continues to show the producers’ adept ability at picking great guest stars like Dana Gould, Lisa Lampagnelli, and Alan Tudyk. Judging by the ratings and quality of the show, I think a season 3 should be a shoo in.
