Review: The Sand Whale and Me “Day Two: Search and Destroy”

By far the most different series on TV right now.

Once again the battle in space ensues and we see the pilot of the mech skillfully dodging missiles and bullets as they crash to the planet below.

Day two begins now. We’re level 38 and running out of water, it seems. A looming statue watches over us as planes fly overhead.

We resort back to trekking through the harsh atmosphere. Our heroine comes to pause over a valley and pulls out her telescope, scanning the horizon. A Sand Whale appears and she quickly fires her weapon upon the beast, almost suffering a lethal blow before using a health potion. The Sand Whales laugh and mock her before riding off into the distance. Our girl gives chase, but to no avail. Once again, no Sand whale meat for our heroine tonight. Night falls and we see she has made camp, eating another can of Green Peace. Her eyes are full of determination as the flames from the fire flicker in her eyes. “Enough Green Peace!” seems to be displayed by her body language.

I can’t quite get over how The Sand Whale and Me makes me feel like I am watching someone play a video game. That’s a good thing, in my book. Sure, it has its quirky moments, and there isn’t much dialogue, but hey, at least our heroine didn’t die this episode. But will she ever get to taste Sand Whale steak?
