Review: The Jellies “Cornell Gets A Dog”

Is this a good dog?

Overview (Spoilers Below)

Cornell gets a dog to try to impress a girl, but the dog is an undercover agent looking to bust up a drug ring. Together with Samuel, they do just that, and it’s Sam that has to free Cornell and his dog from a hostage situation, but everybody decides to just be friends…except for the dogs (or WERE they dogs?).

Our Take

This week’s episode had an entertaining build up that really kinda fizzled out near the end. The CIA dog was pretty hilarious, and I would’ve like to have seen more of an attempt by Cornell to try and win over that girl. We’re not quite seeing the insanity that I know these producers have, instead, we’ve got a season of The Jellies that feels very safe. A talking dog that fights crime isn’t even that out of place on Adult Swim, as we have a couple of those, and I was even more annoyed that the writers left Taylor Swift pretty much unscathed during our run-in. This show used to dunk on that shit, but not really the case.
