Spoilers Below:

“The Ride Along”

Detectives Neptune and Sun have Jaune tagging along with them for the day. They’re not happy about it, but it’s good PR. They remind Jaune that this is a job that needs to be taken seriously– right before they hit a pedestrian.

Score:

2/10

“The Great Escape”

Yang punches her way out of a puzzle, and Winter criticizes her for it, saying she can’t punch her way out of her problems. Ruby points out that’s mostly what Yang does. Meanwhile, Sun, Ren, and Jaune are trapped in the other room. Sun is panicking, and wonders if they’ll have to eat Jaune to survive. He also ignores the door right there. Qrow comments that he’s going to be here for a while.

Score:

3/10

“Monsters of Rock”

Roman drags Cinder to his latest idea– a band made up of the villains. Roman says that with their new band, they will tear the protagonists apart, metaphorically. Cinder isn’t impressed at all, at least until Neo rolls out a cannon. Gleeful, Cinder says that they can use the cannon to blow apart their enemies while they’re distracted by the music, but then she finds out it’s just for pyrotechnics. She walks away and tells Roman he’s fired.

Score:

6/10

The first two shorts were mediocre, but the third one is the highlight of the episode. Roman’s continuous failed attempts at being destructive or evil is a running gag in RWBY Chibi, and his latest scheme is his attempt to win the battle of the bands. He’s not even going for murder this time, he just wants to win. Of course, this isn’t good enough for Cinder. Still, that short was quite funny.
