Review: Red vs. Blue Season 12 Episode 14

Felix gets his plan in motion, and there’s another screw up at the Clusterfuck Corral! Season 12 finally makes that turn into the home stretch! Find out what’s on the docket after the jump!

Finally, the show makes that final turn to the finale. Felix initiates his plan to get the Republic to attack the Feds, by convincing Kimball that the Reds and Blues got to their teammates, but died returning. Felix goes on to say that he personally saw the team start to make their way back, but were killed by the Feds. Kimball eats everything Felix says, and begins to make preparations to fight the Feds.

Elsewhere, Carolina has the Blues and Reds to start looking for anything that can take down the mercenaries at Crash Sites Alpha and Bravo. The Reds find the Manifest at Bravo very easily. However, Blue Team has a much harder time. They find the pile of shit that’s the crashed ship, and a link up where Church can start a download of the files. Once they access it, the Mercenary forces are right on them. The infiltrate the ship, so Wash and Carolina start killing mercs. Tucker is getting overly antsy at the fact that they have more mercenaries on them. So he rips the drive out, and everyone teleports out. Back at base. Church and Carolina are laying into Tucker for ruining the mission. While they are laying into Tucker, a Mercenary has teleported into the base, and almost takes out Caboose, but Carolina saves Caboose at the cost of a mangled leg. Meanwhile, Tucker looks on stone-faced to end the episode.

Thank sweet baby Jesus that we’re getting to the finale. The last couple of episodes felt like a drag, and the story finally came back. Also, after bring MIA for a couple episodes, Felix finally came back, as well. All we need is Locus, and we have a real fight going on. Carolina going down at the end is a wrinkle I can get behind, because it opens up a lot of possibilities. I can sense that she gives Church to Wash, and that may lead to Wash turning on the team. Locus keeps eluding to Wash having more to him than he lets on. This will be a really exciting final five episodes coming up, and this was a great lead in.
