Review: Mike Tyson Mysteries “Unholy Matrimony”

Do you take this man-pig as your lawfully wedded husband?

I’m beginning to look forward to the opening gags to each week’s episode. As long as they are not repeats of jokes from past episodes,  than they are usually pretty enjoyable. The opening joke for this episode  was a great way to start a great episode.

The gang’s talents are put to good use when a rich family hires them to make sure that their daughter is marrying a reliable groom. They explain that the man consistently acts strange and leaves at inconvenient times.Plus he has a pig nose, so something has to be off about him. Is he cheating?  That’s what the crew has to find out. Transitioning from the family-owned mansion to the estate’s private island, a secret was about to be revealed.

After a brief interview is conducted, Tyson decides that the man is trustworthy besides a few normal idiosyncrasies. The wedding gets cancelled when the groom doesn’t show up because he is kidnapped by half-animal and half-human hybrid creatures. After an explanation that the father has been mating with animals for a sick hobby, ever since the fraternity hazing introduced the sick act, the other parties are informed of the strange activity and the wedding is back on without a hitch. Not to mention, the groom is a product of that sick human-animal relationship.

As mentioned in the episode by the main characters, it’s funny that everyone is alright with the bestiality. That’s to be expected by this show- a sudden ending with the conflict “resolved” but not actually resolved. It’s becoming a staple of the show, and as long as it is self-aware, I take no issue with it. The previously mentioned opening scene involved the mansion gate being opened after gaining verbal permission, only for it to momentarily shut after Mike talks through it. It’s funny the first time, and then it happens again. I’m glad, it happened twice, and not three, four, or more times. Two times was perfect for the comedic repetition; anymore or any less would have not utilized the comedy properly or just gotten annoying. In conclusion, the episode was good and followed the same same format that the season 2B premiere followed, and the show is great when it does.
