Review: Mike Tyson Mysteries “The Bard’s Curse”

The curse of sub-par episodes has been lifted!

Spoilers Below

If you read last week’s episode review, you’d know that I wasn’t a fan of the episode at all. In fact, it was my least favorite episode of the season, and probably the series too. I’m glad to report, that the damage has been undone; bringing you the best episode of the season, with an episode that reminds me why this series is worth tuning in to.

Starting off with a continuation of one of the two possibly humorous moments from the dreaded episode that preceded this one, Mike’s new and improved license plate is now “BISEXUAL” which is an acronym for “Beef Is Succulent, Enticing, X-Rated (in terms of deliciousness) Unbelievably Appetizing and Luscious.” You can’t just make this up folks. It only gets better from there. The crew sets out on the road to meet up with their next mystery when they are pulled over by the police. Forced to get rid of the illegal substance that belong to Pigeon, Marquess consumes a drug by the name of “Infinite Nightmare.” You can be sure that this dissociate hallucinogen comes back to bite him in the butt.

This was a nearly perfect episode, and it gets even better [ENDING SPOILER ALERT] when you realize that the ending is a homage to the Shakespeare plays that the entire episode pays homage to. At the end, there is a dark twist, where everyone dies. Don’t think I am talking about the show’s main characters, because they are all fine. The actors in the Shakespearean drama are all brutally killed in a dark comedic twist suitable for Shakespeare and Mike Tyson Mysteries alike. Some episodes of Mike Tyson Mysteries are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.
