Spoilers Below

Kirby gets snatched by two random bear traps JUST as he is deciding on his contest that would kill off one of his beloved cartoon characters. As a result of his injury, Kirby’s gotta stay with his horrifying great-grandma, Inga. Turns out, she’s gotta preference on which character is killed off and she doesn’t want it to be Scrunch Face whom coincidentally gets voted off the team in a popular vote. When Inga finds out that Kirby kills Scrunch Face, she promises to make Kirby’s weekend a living hell.

Kirby convinces Inga to bring him to the S&P store, but that proves to be a fruitless escape option so he gives up and just brings back Scrunchy Face to make Inga happy. To continue to make her happy, Inga wants Kirby to delete the rest of his characters.

Dawn wants to gain the affection of Inga, but the old lady wants nothing to do with her. As a result, Dawn goes to the senior citizen home to find another old lady so as to make her great-grandmother jealous. Dawn quickly finds a partner in crime that also wants to make her brother suffer, so the two team up to destroy their siblings.

We find out that Dawn’s new old lady friend has a brother at the same senior citizens home as her, and Dawn does her best to try and torture the poor bastard. It isn’t long before Dawn is replaced.

Dawn heads back home to see Kirby a mess due to Inga’s torture. Not wanting to be replaced on that, too, Dawn teams up with Kirby to get back at Inga for good. The two do just that, but the partnership is short-lived.

Fish is trying to launch a jazz band’s career by showcasing the drummer that would break the record for fastest solo. Problem is that the drummer gets his arm stuck in a bear trap, leaving Fish to have to be the one to take his place. At the end of it, Fish makes a decent check, but gets fired because of his stupied face.

Our Take

The Fish/Eli premise had to have been the worst directed/written effort ever had by Kirby Buckets. It was just so damn stupid, boring, and it showcased Fish’s awful acting skills.

Fortunately, the meat and potatoes of the episode was solid. Kirby’s battle with Inga was a nice change of pace from his recent battles with Mitchell, and anytime Kirby and Dawn work together it’s usually a lot of fun. I much prefer premises that have to do with Kirby’s aspirations of being a cartoonist, but I couldn’t help but notice how uninspiring his video portal looks. I also hope Dawn has another run-in with her substitute grandmother because I thought she was a lot of fun.
