Spoilers Below

Wow…Mom is a cunt this week. She doesn’t want Kirby seeing an action movie in theaters and instead punishes him for trying to do so. As Kirby is serving punishment, he comes across a bunch of letters from an uncle that he’s never met before. Turns out, it’s Mom’s brother and she’s not crazy about him, but Kirby really wants to meet him.

After Fish and Eli tell him how great the movie is that his mother ruined for him, Kirby contacts his Uncle Leon whom shows up at his school as a substitute teacher. After taking Kirby to go see the movie Fish and Eli is talking about, he decides to take Kirby up on a bunch of birthday promises which includes meeting Zach Lavine, getting a bunch of traffic for his site, and hooking up with ladies. Turns out, all of those things have caveats, like Kirby’s web host getting bot traffic and eating crab legs that aren’t good. Worst yet, Leon steals a car from the Brads, and the owners show up to Forest Hills and chases Kirby through the entire school.

After learning CPR, Dawn saves Mitchell but he ends up giving all of the credit to a stray dog. The fat kid with a blog tells her that he knows the truth about what happened that day and can help but only if Dawn agrees to be his boyfriend. Fortunately, Dawn’s able to showcase a video that clearly sees she’s the one that saved Mitchell, but no one cares. Dawn starts to choke, and Kirby saves her, then some kid she likes starts to choke, and the dog really saves her.

Dawn breaks up with fat Ricky and we learn that Mom was the one who hired everyone to teach Kirby a lesson. Kirby’s mind is blown.

Our Take

On one hand, this week’s episode had some funny moments. Like the fat kid dealing with Dawn and Mitchell noting that he would’ve rather had been choked than saved by Dawn. And even Uncle Leon some funny events go a wry. But, I think if Eli and Fish were completely taken out of this entire show, it would be a better program. Neither add any sort of value to the series, and time and time again Kirby has shown that he has plenty enough to deal with that he doesn’t even need those guys. Also, since when was Mom such a bitch?

While I much prefer the episodes that focus more on Kirby wanting to make cartoons, this week certainly had moments that lead to chuckles.
