A few months back on a very special edition of #WebsDay, I was fortunate enough to review the two minute episode of Cooking Hostile. We were promised more in the future, but as the days turned to weeks I figured this was just another Internet promise that would go unfulfilled. Then word came across my desk Friday that Cooking Hostile was back and with a full ten minutes! Needless to say, and as I’m sure most MetalHeads will agree with me on this one, I was more than excited to finally sit down and watch some new material. But as the show carried on into its fourth and fifth minutes, things began to feel a bit mundane. I mean, the jokes still hit every time, the artwork stayed consistent and vibrant, and the sound effects and songs came through as clear as a bell, but did we really need ten minutes of the same shtick back to back? Unfortunately, that answer is a resounding no. This singular episode could have yielded seven or eight solid episodes of high caliber, but instead we got one opus that felt almost forced towards the end. Not to say that it was forced at all. Christ, it took three months just to get another episode. But other than the length, I see no real flaws in this idea so keep up the excellent work, but just in smaller increments!
