Review: Harvey Beaks “Grand Motel; Missing Harvey”

Don’t be long.

Overview (Spoilers Below)

Grand Motel

Harvey and his family (including Roland) head to a hotel so that Miriam can take part in a conference about libraries. Once there, Harvey’s eye gets a glimpse of a killer lookin’ water slide. Problem is, they don’t take kids on the slide under the age of 11, and none of the adults that he knows are available, so he tries to slide down after they shut the water off, however, it’s not as cool as advertised.

Missing Harvey

While Harvey’s away at the hotel, his pals at home are trying to live life without him, but it’s hard for some, especially Dade. Eventually, Dade has a Castaway moment and tries to turn a watermelon into Harvey. The rest of the kids also go a little nuts, but Harvey comes home and now everything can go back to normal.

Our Take

I love when this show connects both episodes, it doesn’t happen all the time, but it happened this time and it worked. “Grand Motel” was a rather typical Harvey bit, usually him trying to achieve something seemingly insurmountable. “Missing Harvey” was a bit more fun, because it’s rare that we get an ENTIRE episode without Harvey. In fact, my favorite episodes are the ones where the focus isn’t on Harvey, but he still helps out in some way. That wasn’t really the case with “Missing Harvey”, and the result is a fun-filled episode that slowly saw the breakdown of the Littlebark kids. It’s pretty adorable if you ask me, but I’m like Dade, I need me some Harvey.
